Homecoming is a celebrated tradition in many high schools across the country. It’s a time when students come together to celebrate school spirit and participate in festivities. A big part of homecoming is always the theme. This year’s homecoming theme was Arabian Nights.
“I think that this year’s homecoming theme is really unique and I don’t see a lot of schools doing it and I think that the decorations are going to be really good. I personally would really like to see a Tangled or City of Stars like La La Land theme,” said junior Madison Fine.
Homecoming themes can add excitement and creativity to the event, making it memorable for everyone. The theme adds unique ways to celebrate, decorate, and share what homecoming is based on.
“I liked the theme and the decorations were really pretty, but I was kind of upset that they didn’t choose Vegas to be the theme because I think that would have been really cool,” said junior Sadie Contreras.
The student council is in charge of all things related to homecoming and plays a part in planning the festivities leading up to the week of homecoming. The biggest things they focus on is decorations and choosing the theme.
“Everyone chooses a few themes that we think would be good and slowly whittle it down to one using pros and cons. We chose Arabian Nights because we thought it would be easier than Vegas and we could do more things with that theme,” said Owen Clay.
