Every year, a hue emerges that captivates the world bringing new trends and fashions.The color of the year is more than just a color; it brings new change to the world, simply as what you look for when you shop, wanting to follow the trend. Fashion industries come out with new products to lure you into buying because of the color.
The hue that emerged for 2025 is Mocha Mousse. The color of the year is chosen by the experts at Pantone. Pantone chooses the color based on what color influenced the world the most by gathering inspiration from various industries such as art, culture, fashion, design and media etc. Mocha Mousse is a subtle, soft, rich elegance that will continue to influence industries throughout 2025.
Sasha Pieterse, an actress in many movies, was one of the first to embrace Mocha Mousse by wearing a brown corset with matching Michael Kors mules. Bella Hadid was also seen with a Mousse color manicure inspiring many others to do the same. Others are also following the trend by launching makeup with shades of mocha mousse while some even dye their hair this elegant hue.
Maria Yanez, a senior, gave her opinion of the 2025 pantone color. “The first thing I think of when I see the color of the year is ‘coffee’,” Yanez also said “I’d describe this color as a rich and earthy color.”
McKenna Bradley, a freshman, explained what she would like to see with this color: “A dress or maybe a hoodie would look nice.” Although it’s a nice color, she explained “ “Not one I would have much of though.”
While everyone has their preferences, Tyrrell Garcia, a senior, said “It’s a nice color. I don’t hate it, but don’t love it.” Garcia added, “It’s a strange color.”
Pantone is full of excitement each year, bringing new colors that will define the New year. This 2025 year, we will continue to focus on mocha mousse and capture it throughout the year.
