Brain rot has become part of people’s daily lives. For the average TikTok user who follows trends, brain rot is the supposed deterioration of a person’s mental health, but the teenage generation has changed the meaning and started their own.
There are a lot of popular trends such as Italian brain rot which is multiple nonfiction characters who have their own storylines and catchy names such as Tung Tung Tung Sahur, Tralalero Tralala, and Bombodrilo Crocodile. Italian brain rot started getting millions of views rapidly, many of the characters being Ai AI-generated. There are numerous amount of videos being created with many more characters and more storylines.
There are students starting to play games of Italian brian rot, mainly the Italian brain rot clicker, which is just clicking away and starting to unlock more characters.. Students have started to play it in class in some schools and it has become a problem.
Italian brian rot has had a big impact, but is not expected to last because it will eventually die out like other brainrot trends have in the past.
Junior Kaden Young said, “I just play the game because it helps just past the time when I get bored in class.”
Sophomore Zaeden Sadoris said, “ The game is enjoyable, but after a little bit it starts to get boring, but it’s a stupid, funny game that I have been playing.”
Sophomore Josiah Ramirez said, “I enjoy brain rot because it is really funny and just random, but there is too much, and I sometimes realize that it’s stupid, and I don’t even get why I look at it.”
