As the School year ends, the 2025 seniors are preparing to graduate.
Jaw Moo, a senior at Delta High School, didn’t want to graduate in the middle of the year, but now that it is getting closer to graduation, he is ready.
“I’ve come to the realization that the end is near, and just that’s how life goes, and I feel good about it,” Moo said.
Moo is the first person in his family to plan to go to college this fall, so his choice is CMU. “I still want to be close to home and be with my family,” Moo said.
Ever since Moo was a kid, he has wanted to be a firefighter, like the ones who put out wild forest fires. “I think it is good to protect the community, and overall, it is a great job. Good pay,” Moo said.
Moo will miss a lot of things about school: “Sports, friends, teachers, and just the memories that were made and all the fun stuff.”
“For incoming freshmen, I would tell them to get involved in activities and to be bold out there because everybody else is still human,” said Moo.
Moo isn’t the only one who is excited about graduating; Xavier Barrinos is also really excited about moving on in life. He has lived inDelta since elementary school.
“I am pretty excited. I am going to CMU and I hope to major in sports medicine over there,” Barrientos said.
As a freshman, Barrintos always wanted to be a chiropractor, and that is his goal.
“It’s just something different everyone does, physical therapy, so I thought that this is a little cooler,” Barrientos said.
“For any freshmen, I would tell them that to be at school, you don’t want to miss any day with school or anything like that, or don’t vape.”
Ashylyn Kerstetter, another senior and a valued singer in the girls’ choir, has waited to graduate for her entire life. “ I am probably going to CMU or the tech college here in town, because they are easy and close to home.”
She is going to college to learn about the medical field. “I don’t know really about a specific thing I want to learn about, but it would probably be something to help the community”.
As a member of the girls’ choir, she is going to miss all the good memories,
“Every time I get to perform in front of people, it’s so fun to show how much talent we all have in singing, Something that I am best at.”
“I am going to miss all my friends and certain teachers. They love me, and they’ve helped me through a lot. Overall, I am going to miss Mr. Mitchell, Mr. Magtutu, and Mrs. Bachard.”
“If I could give a freshman advice, I would tell them not to be scared and charge into school because in the blink of an eye, you are graduating and moving on in life.”
