Sheldon Kier and Adena Kreutz beat incumbents Kristina Hines and Jennifer McGavin in an upset election Tuesday. The two conservative candidates endorsed each other and campaigned together. The Delta County GOP endorsed Kier.
As of Wednesday morning, Kier won his election against Hines by 904 votes, and ended up with 54.54 percent of the vote share against Hines’ 45.46.
Kreutz was in a three-way race against McGavin and Autumn Wynn. Wynn came in third with 1257 votes, or 12.55 percent of the vote share. McGavin was second with 3,894 votes, or 38.87 percent of the vote share. Kreutz won with 4,868 votes, or 48.59 percent of the vote share.

Propositions LL and MM were also on the ballot statewide.
Proposition LL will allow the state to retain all the taxes it has collected for the universal free school lunch program that the state approved three years ago. LL passed with 64.66 percent of the statewide vote.
Proposition MM will raise additional funds for the program by increasing taxes on those who make $300,000 or more per year. MM passed with 58.07 percent of the statewide vote.
With Delta County voters alone, Proposition LL gained a majority of 50.93 percent voting “yes,” while MM did not, with only 44.98 percent voting “yes.”
