Everyday feels more like home

Each year, the Key Club members have the opportunity to volunteer at the Abraham Connection Homeless Shelter to make and serve dinner of their choice. Members, as well as their supervisor, volunteered on Nov. 13 to help feed the homeless spaghetti along with salad, bread, and even cupcakes for dessert.

They brought in supplies to prepare everything quickly in the kitchen, and soon after, they assigned tasks to one another when the time came to serve. They were all in an assembly line ready to serve one person at a time. The members ended up serving about 18 to 20 people plus staff, who were all very hungry and thankful. Even though this is to help the homeless, the Key Club members also got to know more about each other after being with one another for two hours.

Fellow Key Club member, Madyson Hannegrefs said, ”. . . There was this homeless guy that walked in and he was having a good time. . . he was telling us that we need to have fun in life. . .”
