This appearing to be a broken wing on this goose, the deformity might actually be a nutritional deficiency called “angel wing.” Angel wing is commonly mistaken for a broken wing.

During winter, Confluence Lake becomes a great spot to sit and watch the Canadian geese. Another popular attraction is feeding the geese. Good feeding options are barley, oats, birdseed, and cereal. At this time there is an increase of geese from the migration, but not all of the geese are seasonal. Many geese have become residents to Confluence Lake due to the lack of predators found in this area.

Chow time

Canadian geese use their powerful wings to throw water on top of their bodies as a method to clean themselves. Rolling onto their stomachs is also another method of cleaning.

Bath time

Throughout the whole week, the temperature was low making it cold outside, which is why the majority of DHS students had been dressing warm when they showed up to school. The snow from October 25 and October 26 had stayed the next couple of days as can be shown through this picture that was taken on October 28.
