One of my friends was on their way to my house. They called me since the maps showed them a wrong address on F25 road so I told him and he proceeded on the route. The hill was a struggle through the various pot-holes. Panic was clearly heard over the phone as he drove up the hill, the way down wasn’t much better.
Many driving around Delta have noticed the extremely common and often horrible potholes with common examples being F25 road, Salvation Army, and E 13th street.
F25 road is incredibly dangerous with the sheer quantity of potholes that can be found lined up to take out your tires. This is an incredibly popular road during baseball season, seeing as this road accesses Mountain View Ball Park is one of the main spots for baseball games in Delta.
The Salvation Army’s pothole is well known. This pothole is so big that apparently people have had to have alignment fixed after hitting these potholes. The jagged hole and tiny-bit-better hole could cause damage to cars, motorcycles, and are extremely dangerous for regular bikes.
While potholes are a major issue at times, they might not be as easy to fix. A pothole’s materials and labour might only cost $35-$100 but costs often rise above $500 to fix a pothole. There are many that we would like fixed, but due to cost might not be viable. While I hope the potholes get fixed soon, I understand some being left open due to budgets. But, if we want to stop the issue, we need to fix the dire needs first, such as F25 Rd and the Salvation Army pothole.
