On the way to work or to school, many people like to stop by and get themselves a good morning breakfast or coffee. Java Hut is a well-known coffee shop where people like to stop by and get a drink.
A small, cozy coffee shop that many locals love, Java Hut is located in downtown Delta. But that is not the case anymore. On December 29, the new Java Hut building was opened.
Bev Stutzman is the manager of Java Hut and is in charge of almost everything around the place. Java Hut has been around for a while; Stutzman bought it in July of 2014.
Many people were excited when they heard the news. Employees play a big part in this. “The employees love it! Probably more than anyone else!” said Dev.
Changing from the old location to the new one brought more benefits to the Java Hut owners. “ The most exciting part … probably just being in a brand new building with running water (which we did not have previously, we hauled water) and everything working perfectly,” said Stutzman. That definitely is a better change for the Juva Hut owners/ employees.
Why did they decide to buy a different building instead of just renovating the previous location? “ We did not own the location we were at before, only the building. The land owners that we leased from weren’t willing to sell the property,” said Stutzman.
Renovating a place could cost a lot of money. In this case, it just became easier to move into a different building. Also, the space has changed now. They have a larger area..
The old building was small, with just 321enough space for the employees to work. It had a drive-through window for customers to order. Now at the new building there is much more space, it is a bigger area, and it was also designed to the style they wanted it to be like.
Moving also involves hard parts; it is not easy to move from one building to another. “The hardest part was definitely getting the new building built! Getting all the correct permits, people to sign documents, and contractors to finish their commitments,” said Stutzman.
Something that catches many clients’ eyes when they walk into a coffee shop is the decoration/style, or theme of the place. Java Hut has a simple decorative style, nothing too extravagant, but it is still really pretty and also makes the place a comfortable, cozy place. “We don’t have a specific theme… just coffee!!” said Stutzman.,
