Attention all of Delta High! Principal Rosean Johnson pushed out a new school rule last Friday.
The new rule states that all students who have younger siblings are required to bring them to school as “mini-assistants.”
Many students, especially seniors, are really excited about this change in our school. There are also students who don’t really agree much with this new change.
“Honestly, I just thought that students carry too many things and stress out a lot about school, so I thought that a small change would not hurt anyone,” said Johnson.
Indeed, there have been cases where students do stress out a little too much with schoolwork. Having a “mini assistant” is a brilliant idea. With that comes a lot of improvement with students.
Many students who have academic troubles do need that extra help. With their “Mini assistants,” we will be seeing a lot of improvements, at least that is what we hope.
Billy Johnes is a senior this year. “I have struggled with school for as long as I can remember, and with this new rule, it’s as if my life just brightened up,” said Johnes. Johnes is happy/excited that he will be getting extra help from his sibling.
Something that many students have been wondering is if their siblings are prepared for this upcoming change.
“ Yes! Actually, we do have a small program that the little ones need to participate in, so they can prepare for the upcoming work. They will be given lessons about each subject to help them understand a little more about what to do,” said Johson.
“I am excited that I will be helping my sister. She also told me that if I get good grades on her papers, then she will buy me McDonalds!” said Lily Butterfield.
Many young ones are really excited about helping their older siblings. There are also some young ones who are not as excited.
“I think this is dumb. There is no need for me to do my brother’s homework if I am not even getting money for it,” said Max Crawford, who thought that this was not the brightest thing to do.
Overall, many of the DHS students are really happy about this new rule that was set. Many are happy because they don’t have to do their own homework anymore.
