Gwyneth Hasto is a senior at Delta High School, and her parents own the local Italian restaurant, Daveto’s. Hasto is attending the Technical College of the Rockies to be a Medical Assistant.
Hasto is known for her positive energy and said “How I would describe myself would probably be hard working and determined. Once I set my mind to something it’s very hard to change it. Others have said to me that I bring a positive energy to a situation and that I’m very reliable. I always show up when people need me.”
She plans on going to college and starting on August 1at Metropolitan State University to earn her bachelor’s degree in Biochemical Pre Med and Nursing. Hasto plans on going home on breaks and helping her parents run the restaurant, which is a priority for her. Hasto has two plans which iareto come home or live somewhere else for work, she said. “Depending on job availability after I graduate Med School, I would like to come back to Delta due to the fact that my family is here. But plans change and if I were to move I would probably end up in Texas or Tennessee.”
In school her mom inspired her to work hard and keep going.
“My mom was an inspiration but not on purpose. Just watching her go through life and her outlook and demeanor towards certain things is what inspired me to work hard, devote my time and effort to my goals, and always maintain a positive attitude. Things haven’t always been easy for me and my mom. She and I have gone through many hardships together. But her constant love and affection that she had for me was what allowed me to persevere through hardships and keep my head clear so that I could complete my goals. She has inspired me in so many ways by just being the person she is and I hope that I can be half the woman she is one day.”
If Hasto could do something different in school she would “slow down and enjoy the present moments. I was always thinking ahead of high school such as college and job opportunities. I feel like I missed out on a lot of fun high school things because I wanted to set myself up for college in as many ways as I could. I was always in a rush to get out of high school because I wanted to move on to bigger things.”
And some advice she has for people still in school is “Trust God, repent from your sins, and anything that you’re going through whether that’s personal or with high school just trust that he will deliver you through any trial and tribulation that may come your way.”
