Both smart and hardworking, Makayla Wear digs her way through high school. She is outstanding academically, socially, and in sports and she is determined to always do her best.
Throughout her four years of high school, Wear played volleyball and was the libero for varsity. She says all her favorite memories from high school come from volleyball and “the different people I got to meet and spend time with,” Wear said.
At the end of her senior year volleyball season, she was invited to play for the All State Team which she accepted in November, and another one which she will be attending this June.
Outside of the court, Wear has managed to maintain a 3.98 GPA and was even Orchard City’s Student of the Month for April. “She always has a smile on her face, and she’s always willing to help someone if they ask for help,” said Miray Horn. “She is very outgoing and likes to make the environment fun.”
Wear will also be graduating from the TCR in May after attending for the cosmetology program and she plans on continuing her path as a cosmetologist in Cedaredge. After all of her own personal experience in high school, her word of advice for the upcoming freshmen and current underclassmen would be “the four years of high school really does go by so fast so make the best of it”.
