From prom queen to Florida, Ava Martinez plans to attend college in Florida in the fall.  Ava has always loved the beach and warm weather, so choosing Florida wasn’t a hard decision. 

Martinez has visited Florida almost every year while visiting family. With some of her family already living there, she will be able to still feel at home. So this change will be hard but she “will be close to home” still. 

Martinez is attending Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where she plans to study pre-dental biomedical sciences and work toward becoming a dentist.

Martinez said “I’m proud of myself for growing as a person, learning how to balance a social life, school, and sports.I am proud of all the good in her life and everything surrounding me on a daily basis”. 

Martinez also said she’s “especially excited about meeting new people and experiencing different things. Starting college in a new place will come with challenges, but she is excited to see what the future holds for her.” 

Martinez describes herself as bubbly, outgoing and ambitious, she always brings a positive attitude in everything she does. 

One of her favorite high school memories is going to the football state championship her sophomore year.” The energy, school spirit, and the sense of community is something that she will never forget.”

As she moves onto this next chapter, she said she’s ready to take on new opportunities and continue growing.
